How to choose an American Mahjong wholesale supplier

Most retailers meet their first Mahjong supplier the same way: through a general gift wholesaler who treats the category as a novelty line. That works until the season arrives and the reorder does not.

Check the tile count and the rule card

An American set is built around the National Mah Jongg League card. Ask for the tile count in writing — 166 is the standard — and confirm the rule card is included and current.

Ask about replacement parts

Customers lose tiles. A supplier who will run a modest order of replacement tiles, without insisting you buy a container of complete games, is worth more than one who undercuts on price.

Time the reorder, not just the order

Ask what production plus transit actually looks like for your destination, then work backwards from your selling season. A supplier who quotes a real landed cost you can plan margin against is telling you something about how they will behave in month six.
