Private label is where a retailer builds a product their competitors cannot price-match. It also goes wrong more often than stock supply, almost always for the same three reasons.
1. Artwork readiness
Send whatever you have. If it is not print-ready, a good supplier will tell you exactly what needs changing before anything goes to production, rather than printing a problem.
2. Packaging format
Rigid gift box, printed sleeve, belly band or window carton — each carries different tooling and different transit behaviour. Decide which one your shelf needs before the quote, not after.
3. Target price point
Tell the supplier what the unit has to sell for. Working backwards from the shelf price is faster and more honest than collecting quotes you cannot use.
